Synopsis:
Draco Geist: The Dragon’s Ghost
What would you do for your soulmate? A man seeks the love of his life. Once he finds her, will he do anything to
keep her?
A ronin, who lost his clan in an eastern isle, wanders through the western seas to find an island similar yet
different from his own. He looks for purpose. He wants meaning. He meets…her. A kindred warrior. For their
brief time together, they gave in to their passion...and will suffer the consequences. A jealous suitor intervenes.
A tragedy unfolds. A curse is made.
The nameless vagabond travels back the path he ventured. He follows a quest for vengeance against the rival
who entrapped his lover’s soul in his invincible sword, Draco Geist. He vows to liberate her from a blood lust
caused by a corrupted heart.
(Author’s note: it’s a medieval fantasy where east meets west, primarily Asian tradition with European mythology.)
The Grey Ronin:
A taciturn man who lets his sword speak his intentions, he pursues the way of the warrior. In his homeland, the
sword is the soul. His katana, Draco Geist, means “Dragon’s Ghost.” The sword bears the dishonored spirit of his
beloved. It will rust and rot if it does not kill.
Khraelie the Ranger:
A hybrid with the blood ancestry of humans and elves, this resourceful ranger possesses the mystical attributes of
her mixed race. Her humanity shines from her cheerful demeanor. She was transformed into a demonic dragon by
a warlock’s spell. Tragically, she was slain by the ronin’s sword. Hence, a curse has fated her soul into the sword,
never to be able to rest her spirit.
Daemon Pryse:
The dreaded warlock with the power to turn beings into mythical monstrosities, Pryse is obsessed with winning
Khraelie’s heart. His love rejected, he turned her into a magnificent dragon in order to control her. When she was
killed, he tried absorbing her soul into his spear, the Crimson Faust, a weapon that channels his magic. The ronin
blocked the spell by attacking Pryse during the chant, resulting in capturing her soul into his sword.
It is said, to lift the curse, the two blades must meet and destroy the other. If Draco Geist breaks, Khraelie’s soul
will disappear into a void, as if she never existed. If Crimson Faust shatters, then she will find peace in eternity.
No one knows for sure… until fate unravels.
Intro:
The 4-page teaser has the ronin fighting bandits to save a local barmaid. The Draco Geist is thirsty for blood.
Khraelie’s voice haunts the ronin as he dispatches his opponents. The sword indiscriminately hungers for death.
The ronin battles morality, as well, when he chooses who dies by the sword.
(Note: Khraelie and Pryse will be featured later in the series, in flashbacks.)
